Young at Heart Volunteers

We are blessed to have a great group of volunteers help us every month with the Young at Heart Ministry. This group of people help in a large number of ways.

  • Call each person on our calling list every month to inform them of the luncheon and determine if they will attend
  • Handle mailings such as our monthly newsletter
  • Handle sign-up for our Day Trips and Annual Trip
  • Manage name tag table and register visitors
  • Cook the meals
  • Serve the meals
  • Set the tables
  • Decorate
  • Drive the bus and vans
  • Assist with parking

These are the regular monthly responsibilities. We also have volunteers who occasionally help with music; such as piano, organ and special music.

Each year we honor our regular volunteers with a nice luncheon. This week (May 5, 2009) we had a nice time of fellowship and enjoyed some great food at the Melting Pot in Centerville. I think everyone enjoyed this experience and the time of fellowship with each other.

Please be sure to thank a volunteer for all they do to serve us every month!

Creation Museum Day Trip in May

You must admit that we went to great lengths to show our group a great experience. Here we are at the site of Noah's Ark!

Actually, we visited the Creation Museum in Kentucky near the Ohio River. We experienced much more than just the flood because we traveled down the trail of the creation story up today. We also enjoyed some nice productions and the planetarium.

I always enjoy this museum and recommend it to anyone.
