YAH Purpose

The Young at Heart Ministry is for Senior Adults (those past retirement age) in the Dayton, Ohio area. We provide times of fellowship and entertainment during our monthly Luncheons. We also provide the opportunity to see interesting places and things around the area during our monthly Day Trips. Once a year (sometimes more frequently) we offer a longer trip to see areas far from Dayton. All of our programs are designed to be honoring to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

May 13 YAH Luncheon–Charlie Pagnard, Trumpet Concert

We were truly blessed with some awesome music during our May Luncheon program.

We started with a Piano Prelude by Fred Scheffler and Nathan Brandt.

Following our opening activities, we had the dynamic Duo of Charlie Pagnard accompanied by Amy Hutchison assisted by Ann. Charlie is the Principal Trumpet with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and is also Sr. Professor at Cedarville University, teaching trumpet and leading the Brass Choir. Of course, we think his most important position is as our Worship Pastor, leading our Choir, Orchestra and Praise Team.

You can see a YouTube Video of one of his pieces HERE.

Amy Hutchison is an Adjunct Professor at Cedarville University. She teaches Piano and Worship. Although she mostly accompanied Charlie, she also did a very nice piece on the piano on her own. It will be the next to the last piece of the concert.

I think this program generated more positive comments than any other program that we’ve done. We’ve done many great programs but this one was truly exceptional.  You can hear the entire concert, HERE!

Following the program, Lisa Poe and the volunteers served a great meal.

Next month, we’ll enjoy a fun Juggling act with David Cain “Juggler for Jesus”. His program is always good as he involves our people. He performs more than just juggling, so come and see what he’ll be up to, or perhaps to see how you will be part of the fun!
